At Street Church tonight, I was struck by the mix of people we had coming together to worship God and be in community. It was such a diverse group of all different races, economical statuses, and ages. It was great to have a 9-year-old as our “drummer boy”, a young man who recently decided to give his life to Christ preachin’ it, a woman drumming on a trash can, an older man thankful for his Christmas present: although private about what the gift was, it was what he wanted and it made his night.
That just being a small glimpse of the conglomeration, to hear this group of people lifting their voices to praise God was a beautiful sound, and something I am thankful for as I left Street Church tonight.
Last thought, one of our friends from Street Church, Paul, has recently moved to Southern California and I miss his presence already.
